Your boss is breathing down your neck. He needs this report and he needs it now. However, you're supposed to be planning the company picnic, you're supposed to be scheduling your bosses flight to Japan for a meeting with the bigwigs next month and a hundred other duties that he's piled on your plate. How are you supposed to get all that done and still have time for your family and social life without going crazy? Relax, all you need is a little business time management. Business time management involves putting all your priorities in order from most important to least important duties and then performing those duties accordingly. By scheduling everything out, you'll become less stressed out, you'll perform better and you'll even impress that powers that be who hold the key to your raises and promotions.

Write Everything Down

The key to business time management is to write every little detail down. Don't rely on your memory to hold all the important meeting times, flight schedules and more. Keep a daily planner or just a simple notebook and write everything down that comes your way throughout the day. Then, every so often, organize those writings and keep priority lists. If you don't organize the writings, you'll soon have a bunch of scribbled notes that won't make sense to anyone, let alone you. So make sure you keep detailed, organized lists and then perform those duties in order from most important to least.

Sticky Notes

Another great tool for business time management is to use those yellow sticky notes. Put them up on your mirror at home so that you remember important things while getting ready for work. Put one on your alarm clock so that when you wake up in the morning, you remember to pick up your bosses dry cleaning. These are all examples of how you can create effective business time management by reminding yourself constantly of the important things you need to get done.

Voice Recorders

Another great way to develop business time management skills is to keep a small voice recorder in your pocket or purse. Then, whenever you remember something important, or are given an assignment, speak into the recorder. Then, when you have a minute to yourself, play the recording back and write the message into your daily planner or notebook.

Business time management isn't difficult, it just takes a little effort in order to succeed in today's ever increasingly competitive business world.
