Personal Time Management: Figuring Out How to Balance Love and Work

You have been single for some time, preferring instead to focus on your work. However, recently you met someone and are now happily dating. While your love life has taken a turn for the better, the same cannot be said for your work, and so you need to create more of a balance by figuring out some personal time management.

Personal Time Management Does Not Have to be Difficult

It is only normal to favor this new, exciting relationship over your regular, familiar job. However, no fun can be had if you are not able to support yourself financially, so personal time management happens when you find yourself actually skipping work in order to be with your new partner.

First of all, this is a new relationship, so personal time management indicates that you should only see your new partner on nights or days when you know you have no work to do. After all, if you see too much of your new partner, the relationship could become boring quickly.

Begin by only dating your new partner on the weekends. This personal time management technique will be very important in both the evolution of the relationship, and the success of your job. When it comes to phone calls, keep them no more than an hour long, every other day.

Personal time management should not only have to do with your new relationship, it should also be enacted with the relationships you have with close friends and family. Many people become enveloped in their work, or romantic relationships, and cannot seem to find the time for family.

In such a scenario, family should always come first, then close friends, and then your career. Time management is something that you will need not just for the relationships in your life, but also for your health. If you have too many things happening at the same time, then you can become stressed, which can result in health issues.

So, how can you start on the path of being able to balance your relationships with your career? It really all has to do with how you choose to allocate your time. For example, on a weekday, make a point to have a family dinner. Make a scheduled routine here and there, so that you can be sure of what to plan in tandem with your work. Keeping a balance will not be easy, but you will find that with organization, it can indeed be done.
