The very first thing that needs to be done is to establish some goals and objectives for the year, month, week, and day, that relate to your overall productivity. These can be very specific or broad in scope, depending on your personality. Make sure you prioritize these goals and objectives, so you have a more specific plan of attack.

Time Management Tool Tip #2 Write It down

Before you can make big improvements in your time management skills, you have to be keenly aware of how you are spending your time now. You do this by writing everything you do throughout the day down on a 3x5 index card. Start by reviewing your cards for one week, and break general activities into percentages. This alone should give you a clear idea of where you are at now.

Since you already have established goals, write them down on a card and cross them off as you accomplish them. You will be surprised how much this will help; it is like carrying around a grocery list of things you want to accomplish every day in your life. Crossing items off your list will give you a boost in morale every time you do it, so make sure you cross off your accomplishments one by one.

The world famous weight loss organization "Weight Watchers" recognizes the psychological positive effect of writing things down, so they advise their members to write down food points as they go through the day. They know that writing something down is key to making it happen.

If you are really going to dedicate yourself to get more accomplished every day then you need lots of energy. Concentrate on eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and of course avoid alcohol and drugs.

It seems to be a very simple formula: the more you sweat and increase your heart rate while you are working out daily, the more energy you have to accomplish your daily goals. Working out is like charging the human body on a daily basis.

Time Management Tool Tip #5 Attitude

Just like in trying to stop any bad habit, it is critical that you record your progress and pat yourself on the back frequently. This is called positive reinforcement, and can be accomplished numerous times throughout the day, simply by using your mind.

Maintaining a positive attitude throughout the day will do wonders in helping you become a more organized person.
